Teresa’s Family Cleaning Goes Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness Month and TW Cares

**Date Postponed**

Teresa’s Family Cleaning, a cleaning company based out of Rocky Point Long Island has teamed up with Christmas Decor by Emerald Magic to raise money for cancer charity, TW Cares.

Rocky Point, NY October 7th- October is National Breast Cancer
Awareness Month and Teresa’s Family Cleaning, a company known across Long
Island as a supporter of cancer charities, is taking that opportunity to spread
awareness about an organization called TW Cares. TWC, created by Teresa’s owner
Teresa Ward, offers free house cleaning services to men, women, and the
caretakers of children whose lives are affected by cancer. “It’s hard
enough to deal with illness, and all of the treatments you have to endure,
without coming home from the hospital and then having to clean your
house,” says Ward.

To draw attention to the cause, Teresa’s Family Cleaning’s Rocky Point location will be covered in pink holiday lights, donated and installed by Christmas Decor by Emerald Magic. “It’s a great cause and a great opportunity to help out,” says Craig
Den Hartog, President of Emerald Magic Lawn Care.

The location will serve as a drop off point for contributions to the TW Cares cause, though they may also be made by mail or phone. “We’re hoping to raise enough money this month to clean 50 homes,” says Teresa Ward. “I’d love to be able to
take a little strain off [the recipients] before the holiday season puts even
more stress on people.”

A contribution of $65 provides cleaning for one household and also earns the donor a “cleaning angel” which includes mention on the Teresa’s Family Cleaning website, a
link back to their Facebook or business page, and 4 mentions in the weekly
Teresa’s Family Cleaning newsletter.

The official kickoff to the event will be Announced Soon- where they will flip the switch, lighting up the building in Pink at the Teresa’s Family Cleanings Rocky Point location, 341 NY 25A, Rocky Point, NY.

Self Cleaning House? Already invented!

Women in History

Mothers of Invention – Reinventing The Home and Fashion by Mary Bellis

I just read a very interesting article by , on About.com’s Guide.  Not only does she document women in history and what they’ve invented, but a section on the Ultimate Home that was a self cleaning home struck me as an amazing concept so I had to read it!  I suggest you give it a read as well.  I learned alot about what women have done throughout history, that somehow managed to slip through the cracks of giving credit where credit is do.
