From Basement to Long Island Institution
In 1993, Teresa Ward started her cleaning business in the basement and garage of her own Long Island home. With nothing but determination, a commitment to quality, and a genuine love for helping others, she set out to build something different — a cleaning company that treated every home like family.
What started as one woman with a vision grew into one of the most successful home and commercial cleaning services on Long Island. At its peak, Teresa's Family Cleaning employed 35 team members across 14 crews, supported by 4 full-time office staff — all while maintaining the spotless reputation Teresa built from day one.
But numbers only tell part of the story. Teresa was a determined business leader with a huge heart for people. She supported countless local charities and nonprofit organizations, frequently donating services to help others in need. A native Long Islander who grew up running a successful family business, she understood that true success meant lifting up the entire community.
