Is your man due for a Spring Cleaning?
Chances are, he is. We love our men, we really do but lets face it, they are the stinkier sex. They also tend to hold on to items a bit (or alot) longer than they should. If this sounds a bit too familiar, read on!
If your man has smelly feet, chances are you are living with stinky shoes. Never fear, help is here using items you already have in your home.
80’s undies, mystery stains and stinky sport equipment, oh my!
Is foul smelling sports equipment hanging out in your bedroom or garage? I can help! For non-porous or non washable items, simply spray or wipe down with straight vinegar, vodka or alcohol (test in a small area first for color fastness.) All three will help kill the bacteria that cause odors and will not leave a lingering scent once dry. A few drops of your favorite essential oil (think about a strong one like peppermint) can be mixed in to leave behind a pleasant scent to mask whatever odors are left behind. Add a cup of vinegar to the laundry when washing sports or workout clothing to help remove odors.
TIP: Blue jeans can extend the life of a disposable razor up to six months*Go through your man’s medicine cabinet and dispose of any grooming products that may have expired. If you don’t see an expiration date a good way to tell if something is no longer fresh is to take a whiff. If it smells funky, has changed color and/or separates, it is probably passed its prime. Expired prescriptions and over the counter medications need to be disposed of properly and should not just be tossed in the trash.
Does your man have boxers from the 80’s? Toss those out-date-undies. I don’t know why, but men seem to hold on to their socks and underwear long after their expiration date. Use your Spring Cleaning time as an excuse to toss out his old, stained, ripped and mismatched underwear and clothing. If you come across an item that is still wearable but is sporting a mystery stain, try out some of these unconventional stain removers before you relocate it to the trash.

Oh my gosh – I LOVE this post!!!! LOL Thanks so much for sharing girl!
Fantastic tips! I never thought about using the vinegar spray on the sports equipment. I need to try that!
Oh my! My husband definitely needs a spring cleaning! He has clothing from high school and he graduated in 1999!
Luckily, mine doesn’t do that….haha!
I had heard that about a razor, but never tried it!
Seriously, those boxers sure seem to linger, don’t they?
