The Village of Huntington Bay is holding its annual Operation School Supply Drive, from now until the end of September. Please help us, help our neighbors in Suffolk County. This is a great opportunity to get your children involved in making a difference in the lives of some of their classmates! You can drop off new/unused supplies at Huntington Bay Village Hall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. All donations will be picked up by the Suffolk County Department of Social Services for distribution. For more information, call Kristen Gerken at (631) 427-2843.

 Hope For Youth Family Night Fundraiser

 Tuesday evening: August 31, 2010. Mini Golf: 18 holes of fun challenges for the entire family Night Golf: 9 holes, Par 3 ~ Night Golf, need we say more? Oh, one more thing, the holes are designed by the architects from Winged Foot (#10); Augusta (#12); Shinnecock (#11); etc.

$50 for night golf and $10 for mini golf .  Light dinner will be served at 6:30pm at 516 Commack Road, Deer Park; golf to follow. 10th Annual Bideawee “Love on a Leash” Fair and Main Street Dog Parade

Join us at Bideawee’s Love on a Leash, 10th Annual Fair amd Main Street Pet Parade. Hundreds of participants usually come out with their beloved dogs this afternoon. Events include Information tables with pet health tips such as “Ask the Vet” & “Ask the Trainer”, Loveliest Pet and Pet-Owner Look-a-Like contests. Radio Flyer Red Wagon Contest, Face Painting, Meet the Suffolk County Police K-9 Unit as well as Bideawee’s adoptable pets. Music, Raffle Prizes and much more. Fair is located on the Westhampton Beach Village Green at Main Street and Mill Road in Westhampton Beach. The Pet parade starts at the Westhampton Beach Village Green and is led down Main Street to the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center and back to the Village Green by event grand marshals. Bideawee Mechandise available for purchase. Donations and sponsorship of the event is also available.

L. I. CRUIZIN’ FOR A CURE the show is open to all Rods, Customs, Muscle & Classic, Specialty Vehicles, Motorcycles and Antique Fire Apparatus. The 2010 event, presented by Allstate Insurance and run by a dedicated group of volunteers is scheduled for Sunday September 12th, 2010 at the Capital One Bank Building, L. I. Expressway Exit 49N (Route 110) so please mark your calendars. There will also be free prostate cancer screening at the show. Show hours are 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

This unique event features a series of clues that will lead teams of participants on a Hunt in and around the Route 110 corridor, from Amityville through Huntington Village; stopping at different locations, finding items of interest; taking pictures; participating in challenges and answering trivia questions; collecting points along the way.“The Hunt” will be followed by a celebration at 300 Long Island, honoring the Finest traditions, landmarks, companies & individuals on Long Island.  

Huntington Dignity Memorial® Vietnam Wall VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED:
Dedicated to Vietnam Veterans and honoring all U.S. Veterans, the Wall is 240 feet long andcontains the names of more than 58,000 Americans who died or are missing in Vietnam. Honor their memories by joining a committee today and helping plan for the three day exhibition.
The Dignity Memorial® Vietnam Wall ExperienceTM will be placed at Peter Nelson Park, Oakwood Road, Huntington Station.
It is expected to arrive on Tuesday, September 28th.
Exhibition will begin on Friday, October 1st.
There are many volunteer assignments available.
